Have you ever been, or are you now at a point in your life where you’ve begun to look at your relationships, your station in life and people around you a little differently, and perhaps you’ve even wondered – what is life is all about?
Have you asked; How and whom am I impacting – my family, my friends, others around me and perhaps even the planet?
I’m one of those early Baby Boomers that has had a pretty blessed life thus far, I’ve even found the bumps, some of them fairly substantial, to be fruitful in the long run. So, perhaps by sharing some of my experiences and lessons learned along that journey, the good and bad, I can give someone else a lift on their life’s journey.
As with most of you, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. My life actually began at the end of WW-II in the bombed out city of Vienna, Austria. From there, many other challenges along the way, including being an alien in two countries and having a severe stammering problem, which I wrestled with for many years, until I decided to let go of it and just be me, rather than trying to be perfect in front of others. This last point is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life. Don’t worry so much about what others think of you, just be yourself and along with that, make it a goal to be the best you can be.
When all is said and done, I’ve had a pretty blessed life and consider myself fortunate to be me and being in the place and space I’m in at this point in my journey through my life. Being an eternal optimist, I continue to see blue skies and opportunities ahead, not only for myself but, for others as well.
